Addis Ababa April 7, 2014 (ENA) ENA) Ethiopia will further consolidate the unstinting effort it has been exerting to create peace and stability in Somalia, Communications Affairs Minister Redwan Hussein said.

Speaking at the opening session of the training organized for Somalia’s mass media personnel here in Addis Ababa today, the minister said the objective of the training and exchange of experience is to boost the capacity of the institutions so that they could contribute their share to peace and development of the country.

He also stressed that the training and exchange of experience would have a big share in building more stable and richer Somalia. The holding of the training in Ethiopia will further strengthen the ever growing brotherly relations of the two countries, according to the minister.

Peace and Stability Director with Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), Ambassador Tewolde Gebremeskel on his part thanked international partners and neighboring countries for extricating the country from the vicious cycle of violence and said the training and exchange of experience would hugely benefit the Somali media professionals.

He further pointed out that IGAD would intensify its struggle until Al-shebab is eliminated and peace flourishes in the country.

The training benefiting 25 professionals drawn from radio, newspapers and other media in Mogadishou, was organized by IGAD in collaboration with the Federal Government of Somalia and the financial support of European Union.

The training and experience sharing will last a week.
