Addis Ababa, 31 December 2014 (WIC) – Established in August 1995, Endowment Fund For the Rehabilitation of Tigray (EFFORT) has so far created jobs for 47,000 people on permanent and temporary basis.

The remark came at an event held at Mekelle town to evaluate last budget year’s performance of the corporate company.

Sister companies under EFFORT such as Mosobo Cement, Alemeda Textile and Adigrat pharmaceuticals factories as well as other industrial companies are creating more jobs as they become gainful.

EFFORT is the outcome of the struggle of Tigray people, Azeb Mesfin, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of EFFORT, said adding, the strategy devised to make the Tigray Regional State an industrial zone is bearing fruit.

Companies under EFFORT have started using Kaizen principles, which according to her is helping them to increase their productivity through building knowledge and skills of the workers.

She finally underscored the need to do more to increase investment capacity of the corporate company.
