The TPLF has massacred over 150 Ethiopian university and high school students in Oromia in about two months since the beginning of November 2015! Notwithstanding this, the AU, a club of dictators, which has its headquarters in Ethiopia and a witness to the crimes, has chosen to keep its silence in the face of the most atrocious human rights violations!

A the moment, the African Union is preparing to hold its 26th Summit of heads of state and government from 23 – 31 January 2016 under the theme of: “2016: African Year of Human Rights with particular focus on the Rights of Women”

Oh! My God! Is this true? Is there any sanity in the different institutions of Africa?

Incidentally, the AU had Observer Mission during the May 2015 election in Ethiopia; it was headed by H.E. Hifikepunye Pohamba, former President of the Republic of Namibia.

The conclusion of the observer mission noted:

“3. The Ethiopian Legislative Elections were organised and conducted in accordance with the constitutional and legal provisions and the rules and regulations governing the conduct of elections in the country and were largely consistent with AU guidelines and standards for the conduct of democratic elections. It is recognized that 2010 Ethiopia’s Legislative Elections reflected the will of the people. The AU Observer Mission congratulates the people of Ethiopia for their peaceful conduct and active participation in the electoral process.”

Hifikepunye Pohamba won the 2014 Ibrahim Prize for Achievement in African Leadership.

Another shameful action in the behavior of the African Union is removing the Ethiopia election report – prepared by the monitoring group – from its web page!

Does the AU after all have a sense of shame that they chose not show that report?
