About 40 soldiers may have been killed in Soroka this far.

Army had reportedly sought to pay blood compensation. The people reportedly rejected the negotiation, accusing the army of killing citizens in Bahir Dar, failing to do its job of protecting the nation’s borders.

TPLF is reportedly seeking the Church to intervene to get the army soldiers freed. The people have rejected the request, keeping their hostages.

How this situation would evolve depends on the military action the TPLF may employ. The people are armed and reportedly out of the town.
