Ethiopian Orthodox Church (EOC) Patriarch Abune Mathias, a Tigrean, had sided the TPLF leadership during the current Ethiopian crisis. He had threatened all those that raise their arms against the country’s leadership.

Now those Ethiopian clergymen, who for decades have been living in monasteries, worshipping in churches throughout Gondar and Gojjam, have as of this day dissociated themselves from the Abune Mathias-led EOC. The clergymen have also announced that they would follow as their example and inspiration the heroic example of the Ethiopian church leader Abune Petros, who was killed by Fascist Italy, because of his refusal to ally with the invaders.

Meanwhile, Muslim Ethiopians in Gondar, Shashemene, and Dire Dawa and Saudi Arabia have used the occasion of ID Al Adha to protest against the brutal TPLF regime. It is reported, in the video news story, below, the Agazi force, TPLF’s Tigrean commandoes have attacked the people and many worshippers were hurt. It is also reported that several people have been imprisoned.

The imprisonment possibly is to refill prisons that reportedly have released 750 prisoners, most of them political, on amnesty in connection with the occasion of the Ethiopia New Year!

The more people are in prison, the TPLF feels safer!
