በኤክስፖርት ገበያ ላይ አተኩረው የአገሪቱን የውጭ ምንዛሪ ግኝት እንዲያሰፉ በተመረጡት የቆዳና ጨርቃ ጨርቅ የኢንዱስትሪ ዘርፎች የተሰማሩ የውጭ ኩባንያዎች፣ የገበያ ሥርዓት ሥጋት እንደፈጠሩበት የኢንዱስትሪ ሚኒስትሩ አቶ አህመድ አብተው አስታወቁ፡፡

በተጠናቀቀው የበጀት ዓመት ከማኑፋክቸሪንግ ዘርፍ 1.2 ቢሊዮን ዶላር ለማግኘት የታቀደ ቢሆንም፣ አፈጻጸሙ ግን 397.7 ሚሊዮን ዶላር ብቻ መሆኑ ታወቀ፡፡ የዕድገትና ትራንስፎርሜሽን ዕቅዱ ሲጀመር ከማኑፋክቸሪንግ ዘርፍ ይገኝ የነበረው የውጭ ምንዛሪ ገቢ 256 ሚሊዮን ዶላር ስለነበር፣ በዕቅዱ መጨረሻ ዓመት ላይ 2.2 ቢሊዮን ዶላር ለማግኘት ውጥን ተይዟል፡፡ የዕቅድ ዘመኑ ሊጠናቀቅ አንድ ዓመት ሲቀረው ማለትም በ2006 ዓ.ም. ከዘርፉ ለማግኘት ታቅዶ የነበረው 1.2 ቢሊዮን ዶላር ቢሆንም፣ በተለያዩ ችግሮች የተነሳ ይህንን ማሳካት አለመቻሉን የኢንዱስትሪ ሚኒስቴር የበጀት ዓመቱ የሥራ አፈጻጸም ሪፖርት ያስረዳል፡፡
