አዲስ አበባ፣ መስከረም 21፣ 2010 (ኤፍ ቢ ሲ) የኢሬቻ በዓል በቢሾፍቱ ሆራ አርሰዲ በደማቅ ስነ ስርዓት ሰላማዊ በሆነ መንገድ ተከበሮ ተጠናቀቀ።

የኢሬቻ በዓል በአመት ሁለት ጊዜ ከክረምት መግባት በፊት እና ክረምት ከወጣ በኋላ የሚከበር ሲሆን፥ የመጀመሪያው በተራራማ ስፍራ ለምስጋናና ቀጣይ ወራትን ብሩህና ስኬታማ ለማድረግ የሚከበር ነው።

ሁለተኛው ደግሞ በሃይቅ እና ወንዞች አካባቢ ምስጋና ለማቅረብና ስኬትን ለመሻት ይከበራል።

የዘንድሮው ኢሬቻ በዓል ላይ መንግሥትን የሚያወግዙ ሙዚቃዎችና መፈክሮች በብዛት ቢሰሙም በዓሉ በሰላም ተጠናቋል።

ዛሬ ጠዋት በቢሾፍቱ ከተማ የጣለው ከባድ ዝናብ የበዓሉን ታዳሚ በቦታው ከመሰባሰብ አላገደውም።

አባገድዎች ከአንድ ስዓት ተኩል የእግር ጉዞ በኋላ ሆራ አርሰዴ ደርሰው ወደ መጡበት ተመልሰዋል።

(Nairobi) – Ethiopian government and security officials should act with restraint and take concrete steps to prevent injuries and deaths at this year’s Irreecha festival on October 1, 2017, Human Rights Watch said in a report and video released today. Many people, likely hundreds, died in a stampede at last year’s festival, triggered by security forces’ use of teargas and obstruction of exits.

Ethiopia imprisons about 150 during Irreechaa celebrations

At least 150 arrested and one man died as hundreds of thousands flocked to Bishoftu, Oromia, in south central Ethiopia on Sept. 30 to mark the annual Irreechaa celebration.

Bishoftu, a small town 50 kilometers east of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s capital, has become the site of Irreechaa, one of the premier Oromo traditional holidays. Eretcha marks the end of a dark rainy season in the tropics and the beginning of blossom harvest at the dawn of spring (Birraa).
