After long patience and warnings, Gambelans set on fire an Indian-owned tea plantation and destroyed machinery, when the onwer started cutting trees and destroying the forests, in collusion with the officials, according to The Reporter.

However, on 24 April 2012 Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (DPMFM) Hailemariam Dessalegn was faced with a situation where he had to employ those skills on home soil, in Addis Abeba, at an encounter with over 300 members of the Ethiopian diaspora visiting home.
