ADDIS ABABA, (CAJ News) – CROSS-border attacks by South Sudanese ethnic groups have displaced thousands in neighbouring western Ethiopia.
The attacks by the Murle ethnic group have been prevalent Ojwelo, Ojalo and Othwol in the Gambela region, with about 4 000 civilians uprooted from their homes.

ESAT News (December 29, 2016) Unknown assailants attacked a bus carrying 40 passengers outside the town of Gambella, western Ethiopia, killing five passengers.
The attackers have reportedly shot at the fuel tank of the bus that resulted in the deadly fire. State media reported that the attack took place 60 kilometers outside the town of Gambella.
Police said nine passengers sustained injuries ranging from light to serious. The attackers had fled the scene and no party took responsibility for the attack, according to police.
The injured are being treated at the Gambella Hospital.
Similar occurrence took place on March 14, 2012, when gunmen attacked a public bus and caused 19 deaths of 19 male passengers and abduction of five women, 20km (12 miles) from the regional capital in western Ethiopia.

Hundreds of Ethiopian protesters blocked a meeting hall Saturday in Rotterdam. The atmosphere during the protest was tense, filled with shouting and slogans of protesters. The activists pelted a bus carrying departing TPLF officials and embassy employees with eggs.

የቦማ ግዛት ተጠባባቂ አስተዳዳሪ ኦጋታን ቻን ልጆቹን ሊኳንጎሌ አስተዳደር (Likuangole County) ሥር ባሉ ሶስት መንደሮች ውስጥ ያገኟቸው ያካባቢው ሃገር ሽማግሌዎችና ባህላዊ አስተዳዳሪዎች መሆናቸውን ገልጸዋል። እነዚህም ከታጋችነት ነጻ የተደረጉት ዜጎች ከስሞኑ ከፒቦር ወደጆባ ተውስደው ወደ ኢትዮጵያ እንደሚላኩ አስተዳዳሪው አስታውቀዋል። ቀሪዎቹን ታጋቾችም እንደ ሚያፈላልጓቸው የሃገር ሽማግሌዎቹ መግለጻቸው ተጠቅሷል።
