    We receive information through the social media that the shooting, beatings, torture and killings are continuing in Oromia region. Over four hours ago, we received information from the social media . Accordingly, in East Walaga, Digga district, Arjo Gudetu village, Agazi soldiers have fired on protesters wounding the following people last night: (a) Gamachu Alamu Tasama, shot on his back; (b) Zerihun Jiregna Bayana, shot on the stomach and (c) Birhanu Kebede Sando, shot on his leg. These victims are currently being treated at Naqamte Hospital. Two of them are in critical condition.

For a regime hooked on achieving permanence in power, embarrassingly every visitor must have heard this show of the never ending folly and emptiness of the past 22 years , yet again. What is disturbing is that in an otherwise docile country, the prime minister chose to employ it yet again at a time when the people are increasingly vowing enough is enough.

The Ethiopian authorities are committing human rights violations in response to the ongoing Muslim protest movement in the country. Large numbers of protestors have been arrested, many of whom remain in detention. There are also numerous reports of police using excessive force against peaceful demonstrators.
