አዲስ አበባ፣ ታህሳስ 25፣ 2010 (ኤፍ ቢ ሲ) የአራቱ የኢህአዴግ ብሔራዊ ድርጅቶች ሊቀመንበሮች በወቅታዊ ሀገራዊና ክልላዊ ጉዳዮች ላይ በጋራ ለመንግስት የመገናኛ ብዙሃን መግለጫ በመስጠት ላይ ይገኛሉ።

በመግለጫው ላይ ከተነሱት፦

ጠቅላይ ሚኒስተር ኃይለማርያም ደሳለኝ: በአቃቢ ሕግ ጉዳያቸው ተይዞ በእስር የሚገኙ የተለያዩ ፖለቲከኞች የተሻለ ሃገራዊ መግባባት ለመፍጠርና የዲሞክራሲ ምህዳሩን ለማስፋት በማሰብ ክሳቸው ተቋርጦ እንዲለቀቁ ተወስነኗል::”

“በደርግ ዘመን በምርመራ ስም ልዩ የጭካኔ ተግባር ሲፈጸምበት የነበረውና በተለምዶ ማዕከላዊ በመባል የሚታወቀው የምርመራ ማእከል እንዲዘጋ ተደርጎ ሙዝየም እንዲሆን ተወስኗል።

በምትኩ አለም አቀፍ ስታንዳርዱን የጠበቀ ዘመናዊ የምርመራ ማእከል በህዝብ ተወካዮች ምክር ቤት አዋጅ ተቀቋቁሞ እንደዲሰራ ይደረጋል።”

“በሕዝብ ተወካዮች ምክር ቤት የተቋቋመ ዓለም አቀፍ ደረጃን የጠበቀና የሰብአዊ መብት አያያዝ መስፈርቶችን ያሟላ የምርመራ ተቋም ተመስርቷል”

OVER THE weekend, Ethiopia reminded the world of how it treats those who dare demonstrate against the government. At least 90 protesters were shot and killed by Ethiopian security forces in the regions of Oromia and Amhara. As demonstrations unusually reached into the capital of Addis Ababa, the regime censored social media posts and blocked Internet access.

ADDIS ABABA — The shoes lay scattered on the sidewalk as the detained protesters walked barefoot through the rain, escorted by grim-faced police officers who casually beat them with batons to keep them moving.

In nearby Meskel Square here in the heart of the Ethio­pian capital, police kicked around the remnants of protest signs. Just 10 minutes earlier, 500 people had gathered at the site, shouting slogans against the government — before being beaten, rounded up and carted off by police.

I was browsing through the news this week on one of the ruling party’s webpages, when I came across a news item dealing with the Ethiopian Institution of the Ombudsman (EIO). It is one of the shortest three-paragraph stories of fewer words but revealer of what should become serious worries to the nation.
