Foreign Ministry spokesperson Dina Mufti denies reports of 70 Ethiopian deaths drowning in the Red Sea, dismissing it as baseless propaganda. Just days after that, 24 other Ethiopians were lost in the Red Sea, as reported by the Yemen interior ministry. The regime has not pronounced itself on this latter case.

At least 70 Ethiopians were killed when a boat capsized off Yemen’s western coast due to strong winds and rough seas, officials said Sunday, according to The Associated Press. The sinking, which reportedly occurred on Saturday, happened off the Red Sea port city of al-Makha.
