የኢትዮጵያ ገቢዎችና ጉምሩክ ባለሥልጣን በታክስ ስወራና ማጭበርበር የደረሰባቸው የቻይና ኩባንያዎች ላይ ሕጋዊ ዕርምጃ እየወሰደ አለመሆኑን ምንጮች ለሪፖርተር ገለጹ፡፡

የባለሥልጣኑ የኢንተለጀንስ ዳይሬክቶሬትና የኢንስፔክሽን ኦዲት ዳይሬክቶሬት በሚያደርጉት ምርመራ በርካታ የቻይና ኩባንያዎች በታክስ ስወራና ማጭበርበር ቢደርስባቸውም፣ ሕጋዊ ዕርምጃ መውሰድ የሚገባው የባለሥልጣኑ የሕግ ማስከበር ዘርፍ ግን ተግባራዊ ዕርምጃ በመውሰድ ላይ አይደለም ሲሉ ወቅሰዋል፡፡

Members of the TPLF regime are the first to steal from Ethiopians. Recently a TPLF member was caught at London airport with suitcase full of £5 million pounds and gold. He is expected to face the music in a British court, although Her Majesty’s Government has been rumored to be closing its eyes, when it comes to cash loads from Africa, as The Independent reported in 2009.

    Africans need to do a lot of soul-searching regarding this matter. For instance, how many African states have the right institutions to do proper ‘housekeeping’ to fully facilitate national development and ensure protection of the interests and wellbeing of their peoples? As partners, there are local and foreign companies engaged in economic activities. It is common knowledge in Africa that they are also benefitting from this institutional weaknesses and inadequacies.

Tidhar Excavation and Earthmoving Ltd., an Israeli company taking part in the 2.6 billion birr road project that is expected to supplement the ongoing Light Railway Transit (LRT) project, is suspected of illegal tax evasion activities worth some 52 million birr, The Reporter learnt.
